a beacon of hope for
detroit’s east side
Samaritan Center is a unique blend of organizations who have a history of service to the disadvantaged and are committed to the continuing redevelopment of Detroit’s east side.
This venture is spearheded by SER Metro-Detroit, a community-based organization providing numerous education, training and employment programs, and economic development for Detroit residents and their families.
Samaritan Center has an extremely bright future and it will make a tremendous impact on Detroit’s east side as master plan improvements are completed. The Center will emerge as a community beacon, leading the way in proactive healthcare, education, childcare and overall physical and mental well-being.

Our Services

Health
We are bringing comprehensive healthcare services to your community. Our offerings include primary and specialty medical care, diagnostic services, preventive screenings, laboratory services, pharmacy support, and referral coordination. We also provide specialized care options and a full-service dental clinic for both children and adults — all designed to support the health and well-being of individuals and families.

Employment / job training
Our training professionals are here to help you build the skills needed for career success. Services include vocational training, certification programs, and hands-on skill development designed to prepare individuals for in-demand industries. Training opportunities focus on equipping participants with practical knowledge, industry-recognized credentials, and the confidence to advance in today’s workforce.

Education
From cradle to college, we cover the community’s educational needs. Work toward a certified high school diploma, receive GED certification, or obtain college preparedness training. We also offer child care and early preschool programs such as Head Start along with on-site tutoring for grade school students.

Human Services / Basic Needs
Samaritan Center is committed to helping build a strong and vibrant future for the community. We connect individuals and families with a wide range of supportive resources, including essential needs assistance, personal and family support services, wellness resources, and other community-based programs designed to promote stability and overall well-being.

Food and Retail
We support small, local businesses that serve the community by offering retail and commercial space at reasonable rates. Our goal is to provide opportunities for entrepreneurs to grow and evolve while meeting the changing needs of the community. Available businesses and services may vary over time, reflecting the dynamic nature of our campus and the people we serve.

Event Spaces
Need space for your community group or private gathering? Samaritan Center offers flexible indoor event spaces to support meetings, workshops, celebrations, and community events. Our medium-sized conference room is ideal for meetings and training, while our larger event space can accommodate up to 250 guests. We also offer a full gymnasium that can host larger gatherings of up to 500 attendees.

Public Officials
Stay connected with your elected representatives and local agencies by visiting their satellite offices on the Samaritan Center campus. Attend public meetings and community-focused events, meet candidates running for office, and meet with your district representative to voice your concerns.
